Electric trucks are
being touted as the future of intracity logistics and last-mile deliveries.
Leading manufacturers such as Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, and Eicher, as well
as startups such as Euler Motors and Omega Seiki Mobility, have already
launched electric vehicles designed specifically for Indian roads and
logistics. Electric trucks have much lower operating expenses than diesel
vehicles. Electricity costs less than diesel, and EVs have fewer moving
components, lowering maintenance costs. According to NITI Aayog, India might
electrify 70% of commercial vehicles by 2030, generating enormous prospects for
early investment in the EV truck market.
