What Is The Best Way To Protect Years Of Genealogy Research In FTM?
Protecting a genealogy collection requires a consistent backup strategy rather than relying on a single copy. Your FTM database may contain years of family research, source citations, photographs, documents, notes, and carefully recorded relationships. Family Tree Maker Support information can help users develop better habits for backups, transfers, restoration, and troubleshooting. Keep several dated copies of important trees and store at least one copy separately from your main computer. Before upgrading software, transferring files, merging trees, or making major edits, create another backup. Family Tree Maker Support can also be useful when users encounter missing media, damaged files, synchronization problems, or unexpected software errors. A simple backup routine today can help preserve valuable family history for researchers and future generations.
